Description

The property has a trapezoidal layout with three floors above ground and a basement and is located in Piazza San Giovanni, between Via San Pietro Martire and Via Castelli. The original foundations date back to the 13th century and in 1998 it underwent significant restoration, lead by the architect Ivan Ballarini, and was finished in 2000. The supporting structure is plastered and painted stonework. The horizontal structures consist of floors of wooden beams and joists, plastered masonry barrel vaults and plastered masonry cross vaults and there are some false ceilings. The roofing consists of main beams, secondary beams and wooden rafters, brick and hollow mantle tiles. There are three stairwells and a lift. The property was once used as Reggio Emilia Province offices and is in an excellent condition.

The train station is 1,3 km away, linking Reggio Emilia with Parma, Milan, Bologna, Ancona and Lecce, while the ‘Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana’ high velocity train station is 5 km from the building, with links to Milan and Rome in 46 minutes and 2 hours, respectively. From the town, Bologna is 72 km away, Modena 28 km, Piacenza 96 km and Milan is 155 km.
