The property is suitable for hosting hospitality and/or museum functions, in order to return to the city the spaces used by the maestro Giuseppe Verdi and spaces to increase tourist hospitality. The former San Marco hotel, located in the heart of Piacenza, on the corner between via San Marco and via Cittadella, represents an important piece of the architectural and cultural history of the city. Its current image is, in fact, the result of different construction phases which, starting from its first construction, continued until the beginning of the 20th century. The property retains some important valuable elements. In addition to the decorative elements of the two facades composed of the ashlar work and the mullioned windows on the ground floor, the inter-floor and crowning frames and the aedicules that frame the windows, there is the presence of some Art Nouveau iron elements. Among these are: the shelter over the entrance portal and the parapets of the stairs and balconies. The building was born as a hostel owned by the Chapter of the Collegiate Church of San Gervaso; it was later purchased by a private individual who made it the most important hotel in the city, which often included Giuseppe Verdi among its guests.
