LAZZARETTO – STUDENT HOUSE

The new large Bertalia-Lazzaretto sector, currently under construction in the north-west area of the city, is part of a larger plan aimed at transforming Bologna into the "European City of Knowledge" by creating new infrastructure and services for culture, research, and innovation. Once completed, the Lazzaretto sector will feature the construction of 2,000 new homes, as well as new spaces for the University, offices, shops, and public spaces. Some residential plots and a portion of the University Campus have already been completed in the southeast area (near via Terracini). The new university buildings (depicted in light brown in the picture) will provide the area with approximately 25,000 square meters for classrooms, laboratories, student residences, and student services, which will complement other university buildings already located on via Terracini.
